How it works

Inside the machine.

Most people have never seen cotton candy made automatically. Here is exactly what happens from the moment a customer taps the screen to the moment they walk away with their order.

The touchscreen

The customer taps the screen, browses 48 unique shapes across four colour options, and picks their flavour. The selection takes about 30 seconds — and is part of the entertainment. Children crowd around it before they even order.

The choice itself is the experience

With 48 shapes and 16 flavours, no two visits have to be the same. That variety is what drives repeat purchases.

The robotic arm

Once an order is placed, the robotic arm picks up a fresh stick from the dispenser and begins moving it through a spinning bowl of heated sugar. This is the moment that draws a crowd. The arm moves with mechanical precision — and watching it feels like seeing something that should not be possible.

The spectacle

The arm is visible through the glass window. People stop, take out their phones, and film it. That footage ends up on social media. That social media brings more customers to the machine.

The spinning bowl

Inside the bowl, granulated sugar is heated until it melts. The bowl spins at high speed, forcing the liquid sugar through tiny holes where it instantly solidifies into ultra-thin threads. Those threads are what cotton candy is made of — thousands of strands, each one finer than a human hair, caught on the stick as the arm rotates.

The science of it

A full portion of cotton candy weighs roughly 28 grams. Most of that weight is air. The fluffy appearance comes from thousands of sugar threads trapping space between them — which is why it dissolves the moment it touches your tongue.

The shape forms

As the arm rotates the stick through the sugar threads, the cotton candy builds up layer by layer into one of 48 pre-programmed shapes. The machine controls exactly how many rotations the arm makes and at what angle, producing a consistent result every time — a flower, a heart, or one of dozens of other designs.

Not just flowers

The 48 designs include flowers, hearts, and a range of other shapes. New designs can be programmed into the machine over time — keeping the offering fresh for regular visitors.

The door opens automatically

When the cotton candy is complete, the door opens by itself. No staff member hands it over. No button to press. The machine simply finishes its work and presents the result. The customer reaches in, takes their fresh cotton candy, and walks away. The whole process takes under 90 seconds from tap to collection.

Fully autonomous

The machine handles payment, production, and delivery with zero staff involvement. That is what makes it commercially viable as a venue attraction — not just as a novelty, but as a reliable, low-effort revenue source.

Cashless payments only

Every transaction is handled via card or tap-to-pay. No cash handled, no change given, no cash management required from the venue. All revenue is tracked digitally. Reconciliation is automatic.

Zero venue involvement

The machine does not require a staff member to operate, monitor, restock, or service it on a daily basis. That is entirely our responsibility.
